One door closes, another will open.

Binal
Clearing is not over yet, but today will be the last day of the entire Main Clearing Team, who consisted of seven teams over the last month. This included emailers, chatters and telephone advisers that have assisted you through your stressful time, hopefully making it more manageable and supported you in making your decisions for your future. There are still courses available and we will still be here from the usual time from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm to answers your questions and provide guidance on 0208 331 9000 so why not give us a call today?

If you guys are still looking for courses for this year, one of the best things to do, is have a look into the area of that course, for example a business degrees has many different options. Such as Business with Marketing, therefore if that particular course is not available have a try in a similar area. Why not try doing a course search on UCAS’s website? Or Whatuni? One of my personal motto’s are ‘it’s never too late’ this has got me through some hard times, there is always more than one door. May take a little longer but who is counting, the end result is the key not how you got there, but that you are where you want to be J.

Through the last two months I have spoken to many people that have accumulated incredible amounts of experience in a particular area, Clearing may have not accommodated to your needs. However in the main cycle of UCAS or online applications on our website, (if your applying as a part-time or international student). We take experience into consideration as we understand everyone has their different routes and paths.

If you have not had much luck during the last month why not look into doing another qualification to boost up your grades or your another qualification to get onto the course that you have your mind and heart is on, a year or two is not a long time away, it will fly by, it sure did for myself.

We are here all year around as course enquiries and to stay in touch with us why not join us on our social media pages below:

Our Twitter account – @UniofGreenwich

From all of us here we wish everyone the best! For the September starters hope packing and shopping is treating you well. Those that are searching for a college course this September it will be your time soon enough, your hard work definitely will pay off just bare that in mind and we will see you soon on campus next year.

Until next year!

Denise

Two Weeks to Go…

Terry
Hey guys, it’s me again :)

Today I’m just going to talk about what you can do in the following two weeks leading up to the start of your course…

Firstly, you need to make sure your registration is complete as this is the most important part of enrolling to the University, without registration you won’t receive your ID card and without that you won’t have access to the Universities Facilities. If you have not done so already, this is not an issue, you still have time just go onto our website at the link provided: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/current-students/reg this page will give you all the information on how to register and who to contact if you are having issues.

Secondly, take a look at our Students’ Union page, http://www.suug.co.uk/ this will give you all the information you need regarding the upcoming Freshers’ Fortnight. This will include the two Freshers’ Fairs, the Summer Ball, all the events being held at our Students’ Union bars and all the societies and sports clubs this University has to offer. You could also access our Students’ Union facebook page at www.facebook.com/sugreenwich or on twitter on @sugreenwich in order to meet people in the same situation as yourselves.

Thirdly, you can access the student Moodle, in which you can find more information regarding the courses you have chosen. To do this you can log into your portal and find the ‘My Learning’ tab, you may recognise this tab if you have already registered with us'. On the left hand side there should be something that states ‘View My Courses’ if you click onto this, this will then take you to your Moodle page in which you can view this information.

And last but by no means least, if you would be looking to earn some cash whilst you work, you could look at our very own Jobshop and see what jobs are available in the University: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/current-students/emp/get/jobshop new jobs will be posted on to the Jobshop throughout the year so keep your eyes peeled for what you may fancy the look of.

Hope you are all very excited for what the next year has to offer, remember if you haven’t even applied yet, it’s not too late. Contact us on 020 8331 9000 or speak to us via our website on LiveChat at: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/study/courses/clearing to make your Clearing application.

Until next time

Terry :)

You are not alone...

Rima
Hi Everyone,

It’s the beginning of September which means it is getting near to the start date for new students starting university this September. It must be a really nerve wracking time for many new students, wondering if they’ll make any friends and if they’ll like their course and lecturers. The first thing everyone needs to remember is you are not alone, there are many students in exactly the same position as you and are all probably experiencing the same first day nerves.

Social Networking is a great way to get to know people doing the same course as you as well as people on the same campus as you, this way you may already make many friends even before your first day. At the Enquiry Unit we have a Facebook and twitter page that you can post on looking for people doing similar courses to you.

You can also post on www.studentroom.co.uk

In regards to clearing, even though the start date is getting closer, it’s still not too late to apply for some courses. So give us a call on 020 8331 9000, chat to us online via: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/study or come and visit us on our Greenwich Campus (Queen Mary Building) to find out more J

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the holidays and good luck with everything.

Clearing has no deadline!!

Kelty
Quite a few people have been calling lately asking when the deadline for Clearing is, and in all honesty there isn't one!! People seem to have the same misconception, where Clearing starts on A Level results day and closes a few days/weeks after that. Whilst that may be the case in some institutions, with the University of Greenwich we keep Clearing open until that course is full :)
So it’s not too late to apply! We still have lots of great courses which are still accepting applications, such as our Engineering programmes, so feel free to give us a call on 0208 331 9000 and let us see whether we have a course that’s right for you :)

Even if you don’t think you have enough UCAS points to do our courses, we do have a great range of Year 0 courses, which is basically a course you do for one year and on successful completion you can go on to a range of other courses!

Anyways, that’s all for now! If you want to talk about anything I’ve said in this blog, or anything else feel free to give us a call on the number above, or if you’d prefer you can go onto our website and use our ‘LiveChat’ option :)

Best of Luck!

Michael
Hello everyone! I would like to congratulate everyone who has been successful in obtaining a place through Clearing, and to anyone who wasn’t successful on this occasion; I would like to wish you the best of luck in your future studies.

I can’t believe that it’s been 2 weeks since A level results day, and since then, I have sent over 1400 emails to new students! That’s what you get for taking on an administrative role I suppose. It is good that the University have been recruiting well, and we appear to still have spaces available for September. If you are intending to start this September, I would recommend applying as soon as possible to make sure your application is processed as soon as possible!

I look forward to seeing the new students walking around campus this September, and the best of luck to all of you, take care!

First Week

Victor
Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer! J

For those of you that already have a place with us Congratulations! If you have completed your online registration, you can just relax and enjoy the remaining days before term starts. You can find more information regarding your first week of term from here: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/students/new/startdates.

If you will be living in halls of residence get ready for the moving in weekend which would be the Saturday 14th September – Sunday 15th September. If you would be arriving outside office hours 10am-5pm you will need to contact the accommodation office (contact details from here: http://www2.gre.ac.uk/contact) to make sure that a Resident Assistant would be available to let you in your room and get their phone number.

During your first few weeks of University you will have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and our Student Union have prepared a lot of events for you to attend to assist you in the process of making the most out of your time here. You will be able to join clubs and societies during the Freshers Fair, attend events during Fresher’s Week and also go to the Fresher’s Ball. More information on those events you can find from here: http://www.suug.co.uk/

For those of you that are still looking for a place to study we are still taking clearing applications for some of our undergraduate courses. You are welcome to contact us with your UCAS id and we will see what we can do for you.

Good luck to you all!

Regards,

Victor J
